Downsizing 101 Part One: Living With Less

Downsizing 101 Part One: Living With Less

Over the past couple of years, I heard many people confess that letting go of their things, their emotional items, is one of the biggest hurdles, if not the biggest issue to overcome when downsizing their homes. More and more clutter had built up in their houses until they couldn’t get their head around it anymore. The consequence was procrastination.

Unfortunately, many people have the propensity to claim it on everything and everyone else except themselves why they can’t start to sort out their stuff. They avoid making a decision, which would mean stepping out of their comfort zone and embracing the unknown. On top, dumping things unconsciously in your home will lead ineluctably to more clutter.

Downsizing 101: How to Simplify Your Life in 5 Easy Steps

Downsizing 101 – my workshop for empty nesters and apartment dwellers – is coming to Sydney’s Upper North Shore on the 18th of June 2016.

Downsizing your home can be a daunting task. Are you procrastinating because you don’t know where to start? Do you feel overwhelmed by all the clutter and stuff you have accumulated over the years? Are you frustrated because of the many decisions you have to make to simplify your life?

Downsizing 101 is based on my five-step process to downsize with style and addresses the major challenges of empty nesters: getting rid of all the stuff they have accumulated over the years, prioritising what to keep, and finding creative ways of making most out of a smaller space. It is a three-hour interactive learning session with expert advice on de-cluttering, space planning, and storage optimisation. You will have a chance to address your questions, share their experiences and connect with like-minded people. Useful worksheets and checklists will help you stay organised and in control of your project.

How I Built my Author Platform

How I Built my Author Platform

My new author platform BettinaDeda.com is on air – a project I started in December last year. The initial trigger to work on a new website was the fact that I was finalising the first draft of my memoir manuscript at the end of 2015. I started to wonder how to integrate my forthcoming memoir in my existing business website Bettina Deda colour design. I had already self-published a non-fiction book related to my interior design business in 2014 and had added several book landing pages to my website. To plug my cross-cultural memoir onto this page did not seem to work. Although I have mentioned my life-long passion for colour and interiors in my life story, I couldn’t see a home for the narrative non-fiction work on my business website.
